Very lightweight backpack for mountaineering, cycling, outdoor or everyday life.
Made from probably the most functional and highest quality natural material.
Ventile®; made of 100% cotton.
Ventile, is a registered trademark used to identify a special high quality cotton fabric first developed by scientists at the Shirley Institute in Manchester, England.
Originally created to fill a shortage of flax for fire hoses and water buckets, its properties also proved ideal for Coast Guard turnout gear and waterproof clothing.
Extra-long staple (ELS) cotton fibers are used to form a low-twist yarn that is then woven into a high-density textile to create a 100% cotton fabric that provides an effective barrier against inclement weather.
In wet weather, the soft spun yarns dynamically expand within the dense fabric to form an effective barrier against the elements.
We use the heaviest quality (300g/²) with a water column of 900mm.
The backpack is highly functional with our anatomically shaped straps, ananatomically shaped wool felt back.
The straps are anatomically shaped and particularly adaptable, made of pure vegetable tanned leather.
As padding we use a wool fleece made of 100% wool from kbt (controlled organic animal husbandry).
The wool felt back is designed to allow good air circulation.
The bottom and the straps are made entirely of Ecopell leather; probably the most natural leather, which is currently available (the natural colored leather is particularly bright at the beginning, darkens and gets with time a wonderful golden brown natural tone).
The backpack becomes more and more beautiful with age.
The leather patches on the backpack are lined with leather on the inside and are used to securely attach additional gear (skis, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, etc.).
Packing straps are available separately.
Inside the lid is a large interior pocket with a sturdy brass zipper.
All seams are with tape edging (leather or cotton tape).
The straps are made of thick saddle leather, brass buckles and Loxx quick-release fasteners are used for closure.
