In Syria, Aleppo soaps are poured onto the floor and then cut and dried.
Since the floors are not always 100% level, some soaps end up being too light in weight. Our importer in France grinds these up and represses them into a mold to ensure the correct weight. We are able to offer these soaps to you at a very attractive price. The laurel content is also 12%.
The ancient Greeks and Romans used laurel soap for body cleansing, skin care, and wound healing. It contains high levels of linoleic acid and is rich in vitamins A and E, as well as minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and calcium. Thanks primarily to the bay leaf oil, the soap not only cleanses but also acts as an astringent, antibiotic, and antifungal agent on the skin, while also being stimulating and moisturizing. Medically, it has been used in particular to treat psoriasis, nail bed inflammation, acne, and eczema (atopic dermatitis). It is also said to provide relief for common insect bites and scrapes, as well as for bruises, sprains, and rheumatic complaints. Furthermore, it is used for washing hair (including beards) and to treat dandruff. The pH value of the soap—whose fatty acids are unsaturated and are absorbed by the skin—ranges between 8 and 9. This makes the soap part of an alkaline skin and hair care regimen. Aleppo soap is also sometimes used for washing clothes, cleaning fur, leather, and household items.brushing teeth or as shaving soap, as well as a repellent against insects (for example, in closets). When stored in a dry place, the soap will keep for several years. Since the soaps are stored or dried for about 8 months, the outside is brown; once you’ve scraped off the outer layer, the soap is green.
