The Chelsea boot dates back to an invention by J. S. Hall, a shoemaker to Queen Victoria in 1830s London. Since then, the model has remained in the classic men's shoe collections of many suppliers. It is believed that the name "Chelsea Boot" became established when many artists from London's Chelsea and Fulham neighborhoods wore this shoe in the 1950s/1960s.
In the 1960s, this model gained great popularity as the "Beatle Boot". This naming goes back to the pop group The Beatles, whose members wore this boot in a version with a higher and slightly curved heel and a very narrow toe. The side rubber band inserts make it easy to put on & take off the shoes.
Meanwhile, the Chelsea Boot has become a shoe classic. Great to wear with tweed, corduroy, jeans. Our Chelsea Boots are made of fine calfskin; fully lined with the finest leather and of course "genuine welted (goodyear welted)" for durability and longevity. By using smooth leather; and in the heel and toe area an embossed leather, the shoe gets a unique and sporty touch.
